My Review

The sequel to “Monsters Inc.” of 2001 took twelve years to develop but was well worth the wait. “Monsters University” is imaginative and colorful and great entertainment for the whole family. Director Dan Scanlon made a splash here in his big screen movie debut, keeping the production organized and on track. He co-wrote the screenplay with Dan Gerson and Robert L. Barid. (Honorable mention for their essential contributions in making this a first-class production goes to cinematographers Matt Aspbury and Jean-Claude Kalache, and to editor Greg Snyder.)

The voice cast includes numerous celebrities such as Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Bob Peterson, John Ratzenberger, and Bonnie Hunt, from the original “Monsters Inc.” New to “Monsters University” are Helen Mirren, Sean Hayes, Dave Foley, Charlie Day, Alfred Molina, Bobby Moynihan, Julia Sweeney, Bill Hader, Marcia Wallace, and John Krasinski.

“Monsters University” is another fine product from Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures, a big success in theatrical release, bringing loads of cash into the coffers of The Walt Disney Company.
