My Review
“Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” is a fun fantasy comedy movie, a sequel to the 2006 and 2009 features. Great production values from producer-director Shawn Levy (“The Pink Panther” 2006) and screenwriters David Guion and Michael Handelman.
Stars Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Dan Stevens, Ben Kingsley, Ricky Gervais, Rebel Wilson, Rami Malek, all put enough energy into their roles to keep this film lively. Cameos by Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, Andrea Martin, and Hugh Jackman are a real treat. Mickey Rooney and Robin Williams made their final movie appearances here, as both passed away before the film was released. It was dedicated to their memories.
“Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” is faithful to the first two “Museum” pictures, but did not gross as much at the box office. Not such good news for 20th Century Fox, but great escapist programming nonetheless.
