It’s back to the future for the X-Men gang in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” This seventh installment of the movie series has Wolverine sent back to 1973 to save the future of humanity. Producer-director Bryan Singer (“Jack the Giant Slayer” 2013) and screenwriter Simon Kinberg have done an excellent job of keeping the X-Men up to date by going forty years into the past.
Hugh Jackman is back for his umpteenth time as Wolverine. He has this persona down pat by now. The very large supporting cast includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence, Anna Paquin, Fan Bingbing, Elliot Page, Peter Dinklage, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Nicholas Hoult, Shawn Ashmore, Omar Sy, Evan Peters, Josh Helman, Adam Canto, Booboo Stewart, Lucas Till, Michael Lerner, and Mark Camacho as President Richard M. Nixon.
The very watchable “X-Men: Days of Future Past” was a success at the box office for Marvel Entertainment and 20th Century Fox. The film was nominated for one Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
