My Review

“Monsters: Dark Continent” is a sci-fi sequel to 2010’s “Monsters,” a story of an alien invasion of earth which started in Mexico and the United States. This second picture moves to the Middle East, where the monsters seem to make a bad situation worse.

The film is simply uninteresting on every level, with lack of focus by director Tom Green, lame writing by screenwriters Jay Basu and Green, and virtually no production values to speak of from producers Allan Niblo and James Richardson. The cast features Johnny Harris, Sam Keeley, Joe Dempsie, Jesse Nagy, Sofia Boutella, Nicholas Pinnock, Parker Sawyers.

This two-hour yawner from Vertigo Films of London, U. K., at least had some good special effects featuring the octopus-like Aliens. However, that is not good enough as “Monsters: Dark Continent” made virtually no money in theatrical release.
