Producer-director Lana Wachowski, who also co-wrote the screenplay with David Mitchell and Aleksandar Hemon, endeavored to put together an exciting picture in the traditions of the originals, but failed on most counts. Fans of the Matrix franchise will probably enjoy this one, but will win few new devotees.
The mostly unwatchable “The Matrix Resurrections” was a modest success at the box office for Warner Bros., with co-stars that seem to be sleep-walking through the picture, include Carrie-Anne Moss, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Jada Pinkett Smith, Christina Ricci, and Telma Hopkins.
