Vin Diesel has continued the story of “Fast and Furious” with the tenth film in the franchise called “Fast X.” In this action-packed sequel, Jason Momoa plays a man who is out for revenge on Dominic Toretto and family for the death of his drug dealer father in the “Fast Five” film of 2011. Director Louis Leterrier (“Now You See Me” 2013) and screenwriters Justin Lin and Dan Mizeau have kept this show chock full of action sequences and adventurous storylines.
The large ensemble cast joining Diesel and Momoa includes Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sun Kang, Scott Eastwood, Daniela Melchior, Alan Richson, Brie Larson, Helen Mirren, Rita Moreno, Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, and Joaquim de Almeida. There are cameo appearances by Pete Davidson, Gal Gadot, and Dwayne Johnson, and archival footage of Paul Walker.
“Fast X” had some good attendance in theatrical release, but not outstanding enough to recoup the massive production and advertising expenses. Bad news for Vin Diesel and Universal Pictures.
