My Review
“The Hunger Games” movie series comes to a satisfying conclusion with “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.” Francis Lawrence, who directed all four films, kept the film focused and organized so that the 137 minutes moved rapidly. The well-written screenplay was penned by Danny Strong and Peter Craig, based on the novels by Suzanne Collins.
The large and talented cast is headed by Jennifer Lawrence, who personifies the heroine Katniss Everdeen. It is difficult to imagine anyone else portraying her. Other stars include Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Donald Sutherland, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Michelle Forbes, Wes Catham, Mahershala Ali, Omid Abtahi, Evan Ross, Patina Miller, Elden Hanson, and Philip Seymour Hoffman in his final film role.
Bravo to director Francis Lawrence and Lionsgate for a job well done on “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” and the other three films of the series from 2012, 2013, 2014.
