Actor Jack Black and director Rob Letterman team up for a third time in “Goosebumps.” This very entertaining family comedy film is based on the children’s books by R. L. Stine. The screenplay by Darren Lemke, like Letterman’s direction, is very economical, does not waste the viewers’ time. The 103 minute feature goes by quickly.
Co-stars include Amy Ryan, Jillian Bell, Timothy Simons, Ken Marino, Karan Soni. The young actors Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, and Ryan Lee do very well here in “Goosebumps,” the fun and watchable movie that was a success at the box office for Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation. The film could actually inspire young people to read a book.
