“The Letters” provides a rare and interesting look into the life and ministry of famous humanitarian Mother Teresa. Director-screenwriter William Riead based the film on personal letters she wrote to a friend over a fifty year period.
Acclaimed English actress Juliet Stevenson seemed to capture Mother Teresa quite well, at least as we might imagine her to be, as the general public did not really see much of the reclusive Roman Catholic nun. Stevenson did carry the picture as she was in almost every scene.
Other cast members include Rutger Hauer, Max von Sydow, Priya Darshini, Kranti Redkar, Mahabanoo Mody-Kotwal, and Tillotama Shome. “The Letters” is a fine motion picture from Big Screen Productions V, released by Freestyle Releasing.
