My Review

Viewers take a walk down memory lane watching “The Peanuts Movie.” One plot line has Snoopy writing a book about his World War I experiences as a Flying Ace, and another shows Charlie Brown trying to improve his chances with the Little Red-Haired Girl. Director Steve Martino (“Ice Age: Continental Drift” 2012) and screenwriters Craig Schulz, Brian Schulz, and Cornelius Uliano keep this fifth full-length “Peanuts” film (and the first in 35 years) faithful to the original comic strip by Charles M. Schulz. Craig & Brian Schulz were Schulz’s son and grandson, respectively.

The cast is headed by Noah Schnapp doing the voice of good ole Charlie Brown. He hit a home run here. Others include Hadley Belle Miller as Lucy, Noah Johnston as Schroeder, Mariel Sheets as Sally, Venus Omega Schultheis as Peppermint Patty, AJ Teece as Pig Pen, Alex Garfin as Linus, Francesca Angelucci Capaldi as the Little Red-Haired Girl, Kristen Chenoweth as Snoopy’s girl friend Fifi, and archival recordings of Bill Melendez as Snoopy and Woodstock.

“The Peanuts Movie” was a smash hit at the box office for producers Craig Schulz, Brian Schulz, Cornelius Uliano, & Paul Feig, 20th Century Fox Animation, and 20th Century Fox.
