“Hell or High Water” is an exciting modern day western-crime drama from CBS Films and Lionsgate Films. Director David MacKenzie (“Starred Up” 2013) and screenwriter Taylor Sheridan created this story about two brothers who plot a bank robbery to save their family farm but cannot stop with hitting just one bank. And they are pursued by a pair of persistent Texas Rangers.
This motion picture has excellent character development. Chris Pine and Ben Foster have good chemistry as the two brothers down on their luck. Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham do as well as the law enforcement officers. Bridges stands out in his portrayal as the Texas lawman; he was nominate for an Oscar for his efforts. (Three other nominations were for Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Editing.)
Other actors include Katy Mixon, Christopher W. Garcia, Dale Dickey, Kevin Rankin, and Melanie Papalia in this very watchable heist film “Hell or High Water.”
