My Review
The immensely popular “Left Behind” movie franchise continues with “Vanished: Left Behind – Next Generation.” The story tells of the disappearance of one billion people around the world in the Rapture, and how 15-year-old Gabby Harlow deals with the chaos in society and in her personal life, as her mother is one of those that has been raptured to Heaven.
The cast delivers good performances, including Amber Frank as Gabby, with Keely Wilson playing her younger sister. Others include Mason Dye, Dylan Sprayberry, Tom Everett Scott, Jackson Hurst, Brigid Brannagh, Rachel Hendrix, and Randy LaHaye (grandson of Tim LaHaye) as the antichrist.
“Vanished: Left Behind – Next Generation” is based on Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkin’s “Left Behind: The Kids.” Director Larry A. McLean (“Christmas With Tucker” 2013) and screenwriters Kim Beyer-Johnson and Joan Considine Johnson did an adequate job of producing this latest in the “Left Behind” parade, although it earned very little in theatrical release and was out on DVD in record time.
