My Review

Walt Disney Pictures has another winner out this year called “The Jungle Book.” This is the third version by Disney, after the initial 1967 animated film and the 1994 live action product. Producer-director Jon Favreau employed the latest technologies in computer-generated imagery, photorealistic rendering, and motion capture in the making of “The Jungle Book.” The results are wildly entertaining.

Young actor Neel Sethi was a good choice to play Mowgli, the boy raised by a pack of wolves. Neel’s performance and interaction with the computer-generated animals is outstanding.

Actors who contributed their vocal talents include Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Giancarlo Esposito, Lupita Nyongo, Scarlett Johansson, Christopher Walken, and Garry Schandling. The fine screenplay of “The Jungle Book” by Justin Marks was adapted from the 1894 book of the same name by Rudyard Kipling.
