My Review

Disagreement among the superheroes about government oversight of their is the big topic of “Captain America: Civil War.” The top-rate screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely has them split into two factions: The limited government group led by Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and the big government crowd led by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). Expert direction by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” 2014) kept the multitude of actors moving in an orderly fashion, so the audience can tell what is going on.

The actors include Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Falcon, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Paul Bettany as Vision, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlett, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Frank Grillo as Crossbones, Emily Van Camp, Daniel Bruhl, William Hurt, Martin Freeman, William Hurt, Marisa Tomei, and Hope Davis as Maria Stark, Tony Stark’s mother.

“Captain America: Civil War” is two-and-a-half hours of great and watchable fun from Marvel Studios and The Walt Disney Company. It earned well over one billion dollars in theatrical release!
