Producer-director Chad Stahelski has come out with a spectacular third sequel to “John Wick” (2014) called “John Wick: Chapter 4.” He has retained the taut story lines, tense drama, and amazingly choreographed shooting scenes that characterized the first three “John Wick” movies of 2014, 2017, and 2019. Shay Hatten and Michael Finch penned a great screenplay for a film that was nearly three hours long, a fast moving 169 minutes.
Keanu Reeves returns in the title role, as charismatic as ever, something of a modern-day Clint Eastwood. The supporting cast includes Ian McShane, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgard, Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Rian Sawayama, Scott Adkins, and a brief appearance by Bridget Moynahan as Helen Wick. Tyler Bates and Joel J. Richards deserve honorable mention for the outstanding sound track, and Dan Laustsen did an amazing job on the cinematography.
The very watchable “John Wick: Chapter 4” is brand new in theatrical release and is sure to bring in the big bucks for Lionsgate Films.
