My Review

“The Tribes of Palos Verdes” is an interesting story of a couple who move from Michigan to affluent Palos Verdes in Southern California with their two teenage children, drama proceeding from there. Directors Emmet Malloy and Brendan Malloy, brothers known as “The Malloys” who directed “Out Cold” (2001), and producer-screenwriter Karen Croner put together a slick motion picture with a beginning, middle, and end in the story-telling tradition of Old Hollywood.

Wonderful character development and realistic performances also elements of this project. Jennifer Garner and Justin Kirk play the main characters, with Maika Monroe and Cody Fern appear as their kids. Other cast members include Alicia Silverstone, Elisabeth Rohm, Stevie Lynn Jones, Milo Gibson (son of Mel Gibson), and Joely Fisher, daughter of Connie Stevens and Eddie Fisher. Independent production “The Tribes of Palos Verdes” is indeed a very watchable movie.
