My Review

“John Wick: Chapter 2” is a worthy sequel to 2014’s “John Wick,” with exciting action sequences and well choreographed fight and shooting scenes. The director of the original, Chad Stahelski, was in charge here and did create a fresh film able to be a stand-alone story. Great screenplay by Derek Kolstad. Outstanding cinematography by Dan Laustsen is a major factor in the success of “Chapter 2.” The hall of mirrors sequence is a good example of cinematic creativity at work.

The seemingly newly mature actor Keanu Reeves is perfect for the title role of this picture. John Wick is right in Reeves’ acting range, and he has shown that he can carry a picture after some forty years of filmmaking. The wonderful supporting cast includes Riccardo Scamarcio, Laurence Fishburne, John Leguizamo, Ian McShane, Common, Ruby Rose, Bridget Moynahan, and veteran Italian actor Franco Nero, as manager of the Continental Hotel in Rome. All part of Lionsgate big box office hit “John Wick: Chapter 2.”
