My Review

Cameron Diaz is a classic car restorer who unwittingly gets involved in international intrigue with Tom Cruise, a rogue secret agent on the run from his employers at the CIA in “Knight and Day.” Director James Mangold (“Cop Land” 1997) and screenwriter Patrick O’Neill put together an entertaining comedy-drama-action film that relies heavily on the winsome personalities of the two stars, and is backed up with good writing and superior production values.

The supporting cast includes Peter Sarsgaard, Viola Davis, Paul Dano, Maggie Grace, Gal Gadot, Jordi Molla, Falk Hentschel, Marc Blucas, Dale Dye, and Celia Weston. The watchable “Knight and Day” was a hit at the box office for Dune Entertainment, Regency Enterprises, Todd Garner Productions, Tree Line Film, and 20th Century Fox. Cruise and Diaz had previously starred together in “Vanilla Sky” (2001) and Diaz made a cameo appearance in the Tom Cruise vehicle “Minority Report” (2002).
