“Father of the Bride” is a romantic comedy about a young woman who announces to her family of her impending marriage, not realizing that her parents have secretly planned a divorce. The comedic mayhem proceeds from there, well directed by Gaz Alazraki from an excellent script by Matt Lopez. It is based on the 1950 film of the same name directed by Vincente Minnelli, starring Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor. (Also the 1991 movie starring Steve Martin and Diane Keaton.)
The stars of the show include Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan as the parents, Adria Arjona and Isabel Merced as their daughters, Diego Boneta as the fiance, as well as Chloe Fineman, Laura Herring, Matt Walsh, Pedro Damian, Ana Fabrega, Enrique Murciano, Ruben Rabasa, Macarena Achaga, Sean Patrick Dawson, Casey Thomas Brown, Ho-Kwan Tse, and Angela Alvarez. The watchable “Father of the Bride” was released on HBO Max from Plan B Entertainment, HBO Max, and Warner Bros. Pictures.
