My Review
A shocking look at one of America’s most outrageous abortion doctors is the subject of the faith based film “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer.” It is the true story of Dr. Kermit Gosnell of Philadelphia, who, in 2013, was convicted of first degree murder in the deaths of three infants born alive, involuntary manslaughter in the death of a patient undergoing an abortion, 21 felony counts of illegal late term abortions, and 211 counts of violating a 24 hour informal consent law. He received a life in prison sentence without the possibility of parole.
The movie, with crisp and concise direction by Nick Searcy and a lucid screenplay by Andrew Klavan, bluntly showed Gosnell at his clinic at work with a cavalier attitude to human life. The clinic was littered with scores of bottles, jars, and containers with visible fetuses and human body parts. He also had hoards of cash around the clinic and at his home, showing what a lucrative business abortion is.
The cast gave excellent performances, especially Dean Cain (Superman of TV’s “Lois and Clark”) as police detective James Wood and Sarah Jane Morris as ADA Lexy McGuire. Also appearing were Janine Turner, Michael Beach, director Searcy as Gosnell’s defense attorney, and Earl Billings as Gosnell.
“Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” was an independent production made through crowdfunding. The film was a hit on Amazon, Red Box, and Netflix.
