“Taken” is an action-thriller movie about a retired CIA officer who must use all of his skill set to save his daughter, who has been kidnapped by Albanian human traffickers in France. This well-paced film was tightly directed by Pierre Morel (“District 13” 2004) from an outstanding screenplay by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen.
Liam Neeson is at the head of the cast as the determined father out to get his daughter back from the slave traders. He is perfect in this role, right up his alley, performance-wise. Co-stars include Maggie Grace as his daughter, Famke Janssen as his ex-wife, Katie Cassidy as the daughter’s friend, Xander Berkeley, Leland Orser, Jon Gries, David Warshofsky, Holly Valance, and Olivier Rabourdin.
The watchable “Taken” was a big hit at the global box office for producer Luc Besson, EuropaCorp, Canal+, TPS Star, M6 Films, Grive Productions, and 20th Century Fox. Future sequels include “Taken 2” (2012) and “Taken 3” (2015).
