“The Transporter Refueled” is an action-adventure film about a former special-operative who gets into a conflict with a femme-fatale and her three sidekicks who are out for revenge with a Russian mobster. The thrills, chills, and spills proceed from there under the expert direction of Camille Delamarre (“Brick Mansions” 2014) from a screenplay penned by Adam Cooper, Bill Collage, and Luc Besson. This is a reboot and fourth film in the “Transporter” series.
Ed Skrein does a good job in the title role of Frank Martin, a former mercenary turned contract driver. He replaces Jason Stratham, who starred in the first three “Transporter” movies of 2002, 2005, and 2008. Co-stars include Ray Stevenson, Loan Chabanol, Gabriella Wright, Yu Wenxia, Noemie Lenoir, and Samir Guesmi. The watchable “The Transporter Refueled” was popular at the box office for producer Luc Besson, EuropaCorp, TF1 Films Production, Fundamental Films, and Belga Films. Despite the film’s traction with the public and a job well done, no sequel was ever commissioned.
