“2 Guns” is a buddy-action film laced with comedy from director Baltasar Kormakur (“Contraband” 2012). Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg play criminals working on drug deals who do not realize that they are both undercover agents working for different branches of the U.S. government. One is with the DEA and the other with Naval Intelligence.
The screenplay by Blake Masters is adequate enough to provide watchable entertainment. The performances by Washington and Wahlberg are what we have come to expect from them over the years. The solid supporting cast includes Edward James Olmos, Paula Patton, Bill Paxton, Fred Ward, James Marsden, Robert John Burke, and Doris Morgado as Daisy.
The watchable and entertaining “2 Guns” was a success at the box office for Universal Pictures.
